02.03.12 Hollywood Casino Ribbon Cutting
The Kansas City, Kansas School Foundation For Excellence and the Sunflower House was chosen as the charities of choice for the Hollywood Casino's, "casino test night," held on 01.30.12. There were more than 2000 donors as well as other supporting corporations to donate in support of the Foundation and Sunflower House. Each charity were presented a check of $25,000 from the Hollywood Casino and Penn Gaming organization.

10.13.11 Teaching for Learning Grants
The Kansas City, Kansas School Foundation For Excellence awarded three Teaching for Learning Grants to the following recipients: The Kansas City,, Kansas Early Childhood Center in support of the "Jo Ho storyteller, KidZone Afterschool; providing laptops for seven KidZone sites and the College & Careers Coordinator; providing funding for students to take the First Responder Course. 09.22.10 GM Corportation Open House Celebration
The Kansas City, Kansas School Foundation For Excellence was presented a donation from the General Manager, Micheal Brennan and the GM Corporation of $20,000 at there Open House Celebration. The donation was in support of the ongoing scholarships and resources the Foundation provides for the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools.
