Volunteer with the Foundation

The Foundation works year-round to provide the best opportunities for Kansas City,

Kansas Public Schools students and staff. Take a look at the Foundation's calendar of events . Volunteers are needed for specific events, such as the Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, Women's Leadership Luncheon, Appreciation Luncheon, Convocation KCKPS Staff Rally, Annual FFE Breakfast and much more. Donate Make a DonationThere are many ways to make a gift to the Foundation. Your generosity will not only benefit the students and teachers of the Kansas City Kansas School District, but may also provide you with certain tax benefits. â€¢Gifts of Cash Contributions may be made directly to the Foundation. Checks should be payable to the Kansas City Kansas School Foundation for Excellence.â€¢Make an Online Donation Donate online through DonorEdge.â€¢Gifts of Real Estate Gifts of a home or farm to a charity receive special treatment under the Internal Revenue Code. You may retain the right to reside on the property and derive income from the property.â€¢Donor-Advised Funds Donor-advised funds are provided by donors to support specific projects or needs.â€¢Matching Gifts Your employer may make a matching contribution to the Foundation. Check with your employer prior to making your donation to determine the terms and requirements of its matching gift program.â€¢Planned Giving Remember the Kansas City, Kansas School Foundation for Excellence in your will and other planned giving programs. Staff and advisors are available to work with your financial advisors in achieving your personal charitable-giving objectives. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Planned giving includes gifts of life insurance, retirement accounts, appreciated assets, gifts from your estate, charitable remainder trusts or charitable lead trusts.

Where Your Support Goes

The Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of Kansas City students. To make that possible, the Foundation keeps overhead expenses low so that your donations can go directly to the programs in need. Unless donor-specified, donations are dispersed throughout the Scholarship, Teaching For Learning programs and Resources for students.

If you'd like your donation to go to a particular program, fund or scholarship, or if you'd like to establish a new fund or scholarship, please contact us .

Each spring, teachers and students will be able to donate generously to our Believe fundraising campaign. In January, internal employees give generously to this drive that helps fund our Enrichment Grant and Teaching For Learning programs. Teachers often arrange payroll deductions so that money from their paychecks can be automatically contributed to the Foundation through these specific programs. believepledgecard.pdf payroll_deduction.pdf
